As a freelancer, I had the pleasure of working for sports retailer Hatzmann GmbH for eight fulfilling years, during which I took on various roles, including sales consultant, social media manager, visual merchandiser, and assistant buyer. It was a fantastic opportunity to diversify my skill set and contribute to the success of the business.

Visual merchandising

I was thrilled to create captivating displays that lured in shoppers and boosted sales. Working with such a vibrant and dynamic team in the fast-paced sports retail industry was a truly energizing experience that taught me the value of teamwork and creativity.

Visual merchandising sometimes looked like this:

Disassembled mannequins with detached limbs rest on bubble wrap.

Assistant buying

Being the assistant buyer allowed me to immerse myself in the world of retail and gain priceless knowledge about the industry. I was fortunate to contribute to the selection and acquisition of merchandise for the store, which was a fascinating experience that broadened my horizons.

Assistant buying sometimes looked like this:

Sales consulting

In my role as a sales consultant, I had the privilege of delivering top-notch customer service that helped shoppers find products that met their needs. It was a great feeling to build trust and establish lasting connections with customers, and I took pride in providing a personalized and positive shopping experience.

Managing social media

In addition to my other roles, I also assisted Hatzmann GmbH in developing and implementing a social media strategy. As a small local business, it was important to stay top of mind with potential and returning customers while also differentiating ourselves from the competition by offering unique services such as familiarity and repairs. We made sure to stock products that were relevant to potential customers, such as Affenzahn, which are children's rucksacks made of PET bottles, and we utilized social media platforms to promote these products and make customers aware of new arrivals. Through this strategy, we were able to increase brand awareness and engagement, ultimately leading to a boost in sales and customer loyalty. It was exciting to see the impact of our social media efforts on the success of the business.

I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to contribute to the company's success in various roles, including creating visually appealing displays, assisting with merchandise procurement, and providing excellent customer service.
