As a seasoned marketing professional with a deep understanding of AI, I have had the opportunity to lead workshops and deliver keynotes on how AI can transform marketing strategies. These events have been held in collaboration with Akademie für KI und Digitalisierung, catering to both company marketing departments and individual professionals looking to harness the power of AI in their daily work.

Workshop Structure: Bridging AI Theory with Practical Marketing Application

My workshops are designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience, blending theory with hands-on practice.

Each session in my AI training for marketers is structured to blend theory with hands-on practice, ensuring professionals can apply AI-driven strategies effectively.

  1. History and Fundamentals of AI:

We begin with a look at the evolution of AI and a foundational understanding of how it works. This theoretical grounding is crucial for marketers who may feel disconnected from the technical aspects of AI.

  2. AI’s Application in Marketing:

I guide participants through the direct applications of AI in marketing, from personalised customer engagement to data-driven content creation and campaign optimisation.

  3. Practical Tools and Techniques:

The workshops offer a hands-on component, where participants explore AI tools designed for marketers. These include AI-driven content generators, analytics platforms, and automation tools that streamline workflows.

Throughout the sessions, participants are encouraged to try out the tools themselves, engaging in both individual exercises and group work to apply what they've learned in real-world marketing scenarios.

Keynote Presentations: Exploring Human-AI Collaboration in Marketing

My keynote presentations focus on human-AI collaboration, particularly how professionals in marketing and communications can leverage AI to enhance their work.

I draw heavily from my experiences in the Oxford AI Program (you can read more about my learnings here), infusing each talk with scientific insights and practical strategies. A key theme is the ethical and responsible use of AI, ensuring that professionals understand both its capabilities and its limitations.

Unlike my workshops, these presentations are more informational, giving audiences a deep dive into how AI can improve marketing output, without the need for interactive exercises.

Engaging with the Audience: Bringing AI to Life for Marketers

The workshops and keynotes are designed to foster active engagement. During the workshops, participants were highly responsive—often bringing up specific challenges they faced in their marketing efforts. By the end of the sessions, many were able to implement AI solutions that saved them significant time and improved their campaign performance.

A strong indication of engagement came from participant feedback, averaging 6.5 out of 7, and the fact that attendees were fully focused, often looking directly at me rather than their screens—a sign of genuine interest IMHO.

My Unique Approach: Combining AI Science with Marketing Expertise

What sets my workshops and keynotes apart is the unique blend of scientific rigor with marketing expertise. With a background in both marketing and AI, I am able to translate complex AI concepts into practical, actionable insights tailored specifically to marketers. I draw from academic research as well as real-world marketing experiences, ensuring that the content is not only informative but also highly relevant to the challenges and opportunities marketing professionals face today.

Measurable Outcomes: Empowering Marketers with AI

The impact of my workshops goes beyond just theoretical knowledge. Several participants reported significant improvements in their marketing strategies and workflows. For instance, some attendees successfully created their own AI-driven solutions that automated time-consuming tasks, allowing them to focus on more strategic areas of their work. This empowerment was a direct result of the practical, tool-based approach I emphasize in my teaching.

Conclusion

My teaching experience is built on the belief that AI has the potential to revolutionize marketing, but only when professionals understand how to wield it effectively. Whether through hands-on workshops or insightful keynotes, I aim to equip marketing professionals with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in an AI-driven world.
