One of my most fulfilling professional experiences was working as a Social Media Manager and Team Lead at KVB (Climate Referendum, "Klimavolksbegehren"). In these roles, I had the privilege of working on several exciting projects and leading a talented team. My main responsibilities included overseeing the copy, visuals, and strategic planning for various initiatives.
To showcase my work, I listed 3 of my highlights of my time at KVB:
3 First Ladies backing KVB/live signing KVB (jump to section)
1869 postcards to the government (jump to section)
Religious leaders advocating for more action on climate change (jump to section)

Another highlight was our collaboration with the three First Ladies of Austria to kick off the registration week in June. We accompanied the former and current First Ladies to the Magistrat and asked them why they signed the KVB. Their statements were powerful and inspiring, and we shared them over all our social media channels, resulting in a significant increase in engagement and involvement:

We also launched a postcard campaign to encourage citizens to write to the government and demand action on climate change.
The goal was to use the first Corona relief budget not just to mitigate the economic effects of the first lockdown but also to combat the climate crisis.
We collected 1869 postcards, strung them together on a kilometer-long string, and delivered them to the Federal Chancellery.
The campaign was a massive success and generated a lot of media attention and support.
Uniting Voices for Climate Advocacy: Religious Leaders and Social Media
Lastly, we organized a press conference that brought together top representatives from the largest religious communities in Austria to stand up for greater climate protection. Their joint statement was a powerful message, and we were proud to have hosted the press conference.
Here is an example of a statement from Kardinal Christoph Schönborn:
Lessons Learned as a Climate Change Advocate
Overall, my time at KVB taught me the importance of effective social media strategies in driving real-world impact. By using social media to amplify our message, we were able to inspire thousands of people to take action and advocate for meaningful change. Additionally, working at KVB allowed me to develop my skills as a leader, communicator, and strategist while also making a meaningful contribution to the fight against climate change.
Lastly, I was grateful to meet some of the brightest and kindest minds on this journey ♥️
